Hey,

So my computer has recently starting acting weird:

1) Whenever I put it on "Do nothing when the lid closes" mode and reopen it, the problem seems to be that the screen does not come back.
I am left with a black screen and only a mouse.
To test what it was, I tried putting it on sleep mode using this combination
of keys (of which when I tried them they worked):

Start button (on keyboard) -> Right arrow -> Right arrow -> Up arrow -> Enter Key



2) Secondly, whenever it seems I try to shut it down or restart it, it will get as far as either "logging off" or getting to "shutting down" and then from there, staying on the same message.
I have tried leaving it for hours on this screen but nothing
seems to happen, and so I am forced to force close the laptop (by holding down the off key) and then turning it on again.


3) When I leave my laptop for long periods of time with the screen open, it doesn't seem to go to sleep after 20 mins like it is asked to.

My laptop has Windows 7, and is an HP Pavillion G6 (with AMD E2 processor, dual core and AMD radeon graphics, and 4GB of RAM.

Update video driver and check the status.
A-Click the Start button, type “device manager” in the search box, and then, in the search results, click “Device Manager”.
B-Double-click Display adapters, right-click your display device, click “Update Driver Software”, and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.

Run CHKDSK

• Go to the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Reboot your computer.
