Freezing: my computer frequently freezes or locks out when it goes to sleep with windows 7 home premium

I have noticed that when I come home from work, my computer frequently freezes or locks out when it goes to sleep with windows 7 home premium.
I have spoke with a few friends on this issue and they also have had the same problem with windows 7.
Is there anything being done to fix this?  I have scanned my computer and no viruses or bugs are present.

Hi,

I should have said that AVG and even SuperAntiSpyware could have a role in this issue.
Uninstalling AVG and stopping SAS from running and disabling its resident services would
allow you to see if they are part of the issue.

For SAS stop it from loading in your StartUp group and run AutoRuns above and look for
the 5 resident functions it loads.
2 or 3 are noted as SuperAntiSpyware and 2 or 3 are
noted as Super Ad Blocker.
Uncheck all of those (I believe there are 5 not counting the
StartUp program itself) and reboot so the machine is not affected by them.

AVG would need to be removed using the methods suggested in the message above.

Hope this helps.

Check if there are memory problems

Memory management issues can also cause a BSOD in Windows 7. Thankfully, Windows 7 has a Memory Management Diagnostic tool that detects and solves problems related to system memory.

  1. Click on the Start button on the Taskbar.
  2. Type "Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool" or "Memory" (without quotes) in the Search box or,
  3. Click on Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool (in the search results).
  4. Click on "Restart now and check for problems (Recommended)".
  5. The system will restart, and you need to follow the instructions given on the screen.
