My recent file of Windows 8 Pro is no longer accessible on my Flash drive due to an install that has corrupted.. Where can I download another copy to make a DVD disk?
I purchased the Windows 8 Pro upgrade downloadable version on 12-6-2012 because my Windows 7 installation was giving me trouble and I thought a way to cure it would be to install a newer version with fresh files. It worked briefly, and I chose to backup
my file onto a dedicated Flash drive. Right now I am being blue-screened with DRIVERS_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL with netbios.sys being the culprit. My problem, however, is that my machine cannot read the Flash drive's presence, and that's my only way to make a
repair install.
I tried to disable and then remove the offending drivers via their properties page from Device Manager (my wifi is also affected) but an error message tells me that they are in memory and cannot be disabled or removed. I tried to end them from Task Manager
with administration rights, but they refused to be ended. So I have no way to fix my drivers and access my Flash drive copy of Windows 8 Pro.
I also tried to find out how to replace netbios.sys (It may have been netbio.sys, I'm not certain), but best I can see, I need the Windows 8 installation file. It keeps coming back to the need for another download of the Windows 8 Pro installation file 64-bit.
I know $39.99 is not a killer price for a brand new Windows OS, but it's all we had and my husband gave it to me as a Christmas present. I am in no place to purchase it again. It might as well be $200 as $40 because I have no money. Isn't there somewhere
I can download a copy in an emergency? I have the valid, activated key-code for it. If I didn't, I would be stopped cold for sure! I can appreciate the fact that you probably don't want to make the download site public, but is there any chance of getting
a download link? I have been searching for my email of the purchase, and I cannot find it, but I did copy the key-code onto something more substantial, so I do have that. As I recall, I downloaded the file from the page when I purchased it. I downloaded
it twice, but the second download was corrupt. I'm hoping my USB copy is okay!
What kind of information do you need if it is possible to get a download link? I hesitate to make some info public, so I don't know how to go about this. I hope you can help me. Thank you for all your efforts! Merry Christmas!
