Does anyone know of a software utility that replicates SATA II/III ports so that a single SATA port will recognize more than one HDD??
Hi All...
I've got a dual SATA II docking station and as others have noted with theirs, I can only see the first drive. My motherboard is the Asus P6X58D-E and I can't find anything that states it supports SATA II or III port replication.
This got me thinking that there might be a software solution (pre- or post-boot utility or perhaps an OS setting) to this problem without having to install a different operating system than the one I'm running (Windows Ultimate x64).
I've searched the web and have found nothing; but, that just tells me I don't know how to look as I would be shocked if a software solution to this problem doesn't exist.
Thank you for your help...humbly, thankfully, and sincerely...Tom

Download SmartPCFixer to Fix It (Free)
SATA ports on the motherboard will only see ONE (1) hard drive. You will never be able to make the motherboard SATA ports see 2 drives.
As for the docking station, it is the manufacturer's responsibility to provide instructions on how to "optimal" use the two SATA drive slots. But, as general "information," the dual stations I looked "at" mostly stated that to user the dual ports, to need
to use a true eSATA port that allows for 2 drives.
Using Windows troubleshooter:
- Click on Search on Charm bar and type Troubleshooting. Click on the very first option.
- A new window will open. Click View all from the left pane.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on Windows update.
- Troubleshooter window for Windows update will pop up. Click on NEXT. It may ask you for administrative permission.
- The troubleshooter will automatically detect problems and fix it.
- Now, close this window and try download/install the app which was previously showing error.
