my laptop came with windows 7 home premium with excel installed.
I can open excel and use it from the menu but if I download an excel form it doesn't open the form.
It asks for my product key.
When I enter the one on the bottom of my laptop it doesn't work.
Why can't I use excel for a downloaded form when I can by opening it from the menu?

Check if you have multiple version of Office installed in your computer?
If found, uninstall it apart from the one which you have purchased and check if it works fine:

What is the extension of the Excel form which you have downloaded?
