Solution to Error: Custom Ribbon but keep user's QAT

Custom Ribbon but keep user's QAT

I created a custom ribbon for my workbook

This works beautifully with the exception that the user's QAT is removed?!
I did some Googling and found I could add in a section...., but I don't want to define my own qat, I want to merely display whatever the user has setup as their default QAT, is there a way to do this?
Thank you,

OK, I understand (/remember) that startFromScratch clears all the tabs too.  I'd never be brave enough to take away all of the built-in tabs from users, but I guess you know what you're doing.  What I did do is build a utility that lets my users choose between
seeing the built-in "dynamic" tabs (that switch automatically depending on what the users does), or a custom tab that replicates the built-in tab (but don't switch dynamically) or hiding a built-in tab all together.
So if you want to hide everything and "start from scratch", then I think you need to hide all the tabs and contextual tabs manually.  You can get a list of tab idMso's from here: for 2007 and here: for 2010 (which apparently might have a few that are missing from the 2007 one).  But just for you, here's some cut-down XML to do what you need (I think):

There is also tabDeveloper and tabAddIns, but I would leave those in place.  I understand the TabSetInkTools contextual tabs are only available on tablet PCs.
I would be sure to put a custom tab of your own in there as I would expect it to be unhappy if there are no tabs at all.
You can then leave out startFromScratch and thus leave in the user's QAT.
Hope that helps.
