Bug in MS Word 2010 regarding Folder Naming and "Save As" command

I have discovered a bug in MS Word.
It may apply to other programs as well.
Here it is: 

If a folder is named, "ABC; abc" (that's not the real name, but the form) the F12, "Save As" function does not work.
 If I open a file located in a folder in which there is a semi-colon, that messed up Word's ability to locate the folder.
 So when I press
"F12" it will not open the folder in which the file is stored, but another folder.
 How it chooses this folder, I don't understand and so if one unknowingly simply saves it, it will be located in an unrelated folder.

This is a bug because there is nothing that says that you can't use a semi-colon in folder name.
 I have added semi-colons dozens if not hundreds of times and now I see this has caused me a lot of problems.
This bug should be addressed by Microsoft.
